The route’s total length is 15.7km starting from Saigon Bridge to Dong Nai Bridge junction. The project entails upgrade works to expand the main road from 24m to 34m, from 41m to 48m, and construction of 02 new parallel roads at 2 sides, 12m width each.
Construction began in April 2010. Up to now, the project has completed the entire 11.5km-long of main road axis, from Saigon Bridge to National University intersection. The 02 parallel roads are under construction. This project is funded by CII as the developer and is relatively large scale. Along with the Saigon bridge, this project has contributed to smooth traffic flow at HCMC’s Northeast gateway. Payback method is favorable: toll collection rights at the existing Hanoi Highway toll station, which historically has enjoyed high revenue.
